March Summary + Music Playlist

March Marks women’s history month, an important time to celebrate in general, and for us an important time to celebrate and share female creators and artists. Historically, the design industry has been a male-dominated field, but the tide continues to turn, finally recognizing the invaluable contributions that women have made to design since the beginning. In recent years, we’ve seen a more diverse mix of people break the molds and do some really great work that deserves attention. These women are trendsetters who are leading the way off the beaten path with their innovative artwork and designs, changing the game and leaving their mark. On this last day of March, we take a look back at all the inspiring creatives we’ve featured while listening to some of our favorite women’s songs in our latest Spotify playlist.

Interior designer Susanna Cots has created the most perfect, bright and comfortable retreat in the Costa Brava region of Spain. Copper House seamlessly blends materials, textures and warm earthy hues to create this dream-worthy escape designed to support emotional well-being.

Jess Humphrey radically changed her life when she decided to leave a 20-year career in fashion to focus on art. After spending time learning at the Corning Museum of Glass, Jess found a new medium to translate her two-dimensional collages into hot cast glass. She arranges broken pieces of glass in the molten glass to create these intriguing sculptures with abstract elements “frozen” inside.

We dove deep into the world of product design to uncover cool, modern women-led brands that deserve a second (and third) look, from art prints to wooden stools, matching rainwear for a nobody and a dog, comfy throws, and everything. in between, you’ll feel good about supporting female designers while getting your hands on some awesome designs.
