O/C Records’ Adie releases 2 music videos in one week

MANILA — Singer-songwriter Adie has released not one but two music videos in one week.

Just last week, the music video for “Mahika,” Adie’s collaboration single with Janine Berdin, premiered on O/C Records’ official YouTube channel. The said MV is currently among the top 15 trending entries on the video streaming site.

Starring Audrei Garcia and Chloe Reyes, and directed by Kris Cazin, the official music video for “Mahika” leaves audiences with an ambiguous ending suggesting the story will expand with a sequel.

Meanwhile, O/C Reords dropped the music video for Adie’s romantic new track on August 12 featuring “Kabado.” The music video features actress Sharlene San Pedro.

“Kabado” draws inspiration from Adie’s prom experience as he revels in a scenic and romantic gesture aimed at expressing love and affection for someone through a dance that is floating, but somehow thwarted by feelings of unease in the process of determining how to initiate a conversation with The Other.

The song, according to Adie himself, is about expressing your love to someone by asking them to dance.

“My own prom experience inspires him in high school. I had a crush on someone I really wanted to dance with for the rest of the night and talk things over,” he said. “That song is the good feeling I had trying to figure out how to make a move.”

The record features a mix of alternative melodies, RnB soul and indie pop, seemingly giving a dreamy and passionate vibe as the song gradually blossoms through a wave of catharsis.

“The song will kind of give you a nostalgic feeling the moment you hear the art. It has that kind of magical love that you want to express to a thing or someone you love and make you dance as well,” Adie said.

“Kabado” marks Adie’s third release for the year, following the debut of his rendition of “You’ll Be Safe Here” as the official Vivamax movie soundtrack, “366” and “Mahika,” which garnered more of 22 million streams. on digital music platforms.

Other creators behind the track include producer Franz Sacro, who was recently signed to O/C Records, Hazel Pascua, who mixed and mastered the track, and sound engineer Franco Neo Recasata.
