Waluguru Original Music Band ready for the contest

The band’s manager, Deogratius David ‘Killer Boy’, says his troupe has fielded three musicians in the contest which will also seek out the best band of the year.

David revealed, “Our group will be lining up rapper Greyson Semsekwa and singer Amina Remmy to compete for Best Singer, Best Songwriter, and Best Female Vocalist, respectively.”

“There is also the soloist, Kinde Makengele, who is vying for the award for best soloist,” he revealed.

David said it would be his band’s first time performing in Mwanza in conjunction with the town’s troupe, Super Kamanyola Band.

According to the artist, his troupe will also take the opportunity to present his album, entitled ‘Kikao cha Wahenga’.

“Our group has an album called ‘Kikao cha Wahenga’, it is composed of tracks such as ‘Morogoro Yetu’, ‘Mwanzo wa Mapenzi’, ‘Cha Kupewa’, ‘Ngalile Mwanangu Ndole’, ‘Supu’ and ‘Nataka Nilewe’ , we will introduce them to the followers of Mwanza music,” he said.

He said participating in the competition is a unique opportunity for the group to show their edge in order to gain more fans outside of Morogoro, where they have already gained great popularity.
